Kia ora
I'm Caitlin, I am a qualified and fully certificated Early Childhood Educator. I am a born and bred West Coaster, and I have been teaching for 6 years now. This incredible journey as a teacher has led me teach in communities across the South Island as well as some time in Australia.
I believe that early childhood education is a place for every child to have opportunities to dream, create, flourish and grow. I love being part of the Active Explorers Hokitika team, sharing knowledge, having fun, learning alongside others and sharing in the joy of seeing our most precious taonga, our tamariki learn and grow.
What makes us special
About Active Explorers Hokitika
At Active Explorers Hokitika, we’re passionate about nurturing wellbeing, celebrating cultural identity and living our commitment to sustainability. Tamariki are encouraged to explore, grow and connect through hands-on learning and meaningful relationships.
Our purpose-built centre has warm, welcoming spaces indoors and a natural outdoor environment filled with gardens, fruit trees, bike tracks and plenty of space for messy play. Rain or shine, the fun continues with gumboots and wet-weather gear always ready.
We welcome pēpi through to young learners across three age-based rooms. Each space is designed to support their learning journey, with tailored activities that encourage curiosity, independence and confidence. During quieter times, our older two rooms come together for shared learning and fun.
