Meet our Centre Manager

Kiaora
My name is Rebecca! I am thrilled to be the centre manager for Active Explorers Kaiwharawhara. My journey in Early Childhood Education began over 25 years ago when I was a nanny, and since then, I have had the priviledge of teaching in various roles within New Zealand and abroad.
I am a mother of two wonderful children, and I am excited to bring my skills and knowledge as both parent and educator to create a warm and welcoming environment where your children can grow and thrive. I look forward to working with you and your family to support your little one's development and create a vibrant, engaging and enriching experience at Active Explorers Kaiwharawhara.
What makes us special
About Active Explorers Kaiwharawhara
At Active Explorers Kaiwharawhara, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and celebrated. We create a place where tamariki can explore who they are, build confidence, and enjoy learning through play, all while being supported by strong, caring relationships with their kaiako and whānau.
Our centre is light-filled and spacious with beautiful views of Wellington Harbour. Children love watching trains, planes, and boats pass by, turning everyday moments into magical learning opportunities. Large classrooms, glass partitions, and covered outdoor decks mean there's always room to play, no matter the weather.
We welcome infants, toddlers, and young learners into our mixed-age spaces, with plans to expand into dedicated age-based rooms as we grow. Our days are full of creativity, storytelling, music, and movement. Our learning reflects the diverse cultures and stories of the families we serve.
