Meet our Centre Manager
Kia ora
My name is Tania and I have over 25 years of experience as a teacher. I have a Diploma of Teaching in Early Childhood Education.
I’m passionate about helping children grow into confident, capable lifelong learners. I live in Southbridge with my husband, and we’re proud parents to three wonderful daughters. I believe every child is a unique individual who thrives in a safe, nurturing environment built on strong, positive relationships.
Supporting their development through meaningful connections and learning experiences is at the heart of what I do. I am excited to get to know you and your family and welcome you at our centre!

About Active Explorers Leeston
At Active Explorers Leeston, we focus on helping tamariki thrive through a mix of creativity, care and connection. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our teaching encourages children to express themselves in many different ways. Our Pathways to School programme gives older children the confidence and skills they need as they take their next big step.
Our centre offers spacious, well-designed indoor and outdoor environments that support learning, discovery and play. Set in a growing semi-rural town, we’re surrounded by rivers, parks, farmland and even the beach, giving us plenty of opportunities to connect with the natural world and local places of interest.
Each day is full of meaningful experiences. From nature walks and community visits to creative play and quiet moments, there’s always something new to explore. Our infants, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy age-appropriate spaces, routines and activities tailored to support their individual growth.
