Kia ora
My name is Gillian. I have been teaching in early childhood education for over 20 years. I have recently returned to Palmerston North from Wellington to spend time with my family. I gained by Diploma of Teaching (ECE) with Te Rito Maioha and my Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) with Canterbury University in 2009.
I love being part of the Active Explorers Victoria Avenue community and working alongside the children and families who attend our centre.

What makes us special
About Active Explorers Victoria Avenue
At Active Explorers Victoria Avenue, we celebrate our local culture and foster creativity in tamariki through play and exploration. Our centre is a place where children feel at home, with a curriculum designed to encourage independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
Our centre offers a purpose-built, spacious environment filled with natural light, with a seamless indoor-outdoor flow that connects tamariki to nature. Our learning spaces are designed for children to explore and create, with plenty of opportunities to learn through stories, art, music, and play.
Children are grouped into rooms based on age, with activities tailored to suit each stage of development. We’re also committed to building strong relationships with families, and we celebrate our local iwi and culture through events like our Matariki celebration and regular community excursions.
