Meet our Centre Manager
Kia ora
My name is Fiona! Volunteering at Playcentre after school opened my eyes to the joy of working with children. I loved helping them grow, so I chose early childhood education as my career.
Now, with over 20 years in the field, I still love that every day is different. We get to laugh, play, and learn alongside the children. Our centre is special because of our Christian values, spacious natural playground, and strong family feel. I especially love summer, as being outdoors makes everyone happier.
I believe children thrive when they have time to explore at their own pace, surrounded by care, respect, and encouragement.

About Little Lights
At Little Lights, we’re all about creating a strong sense of belonging for every child. We focus on meaningful connections with families, a nurturing Christian environment, and playful learning that helps children grow with confidence and joy.
Our centre is set in a peaceful, rural-feeling location with real grass, native bush, and even the occasional visit from alpacas and sheep in nearby paddocks. It’s the perfect blend of nature and community, right here in Rotorua.
Inside, our spaces are designed to suit each stage of early learning. We group children by age so they can explore, create, and grow in ways that suit their needs. There’s something special happening every day—from art and carpentry to storytelling, music, and even coding with Bee-Bots. Family events are a big part of our culture too, bringing everyone together to celebrate, connect, and have fun.
