Located in the heart of St Albans, Christchurch, Pascals St Albans is a warm and welcoming early learning centre offering first-class education and care for pre-schoolers.

Our early learning centre is a home away from home for children of busy families, we offer three separate classrooms to cater for each age and stage, plus a natural outdoor area that challenges and stimulates young children. Our experienced and passionate teachers build confidence, independence, and resilience, through an intentionally planned and prepared learning environment.

Meet our Centre Manager

Kiaora

I am Louise and I have been Centre Manager at Pascals for two years now. Pascals is a lovely centre. We are small, where our relationships with our children and family’s matter.

I have been in education for about 30 years now and am passionate that our children are all well cared for, nurtured to become confident learners and thrive.

I have three children of my own who I enjoy spending time with following their own individual interests. Children are often our greatest teachers and I have learned so much both from my own children and the families I work with.

Our centre features thoughtfully crafted spaces designed to nurture each child’s unique developmental journey. Our teaching team work hard to create vibrant, engaging and intentional learning environments where children’s creativity is celebrated, their interests are honoured, and their learning is cherished every step of the way.

Our Rooms

Pascals St Albans has three separate learning environments, enabling us to deliver safe, nurturing and age appropriate learning experiences for all our children.
Our outside environment is split into two areas. In these areas we offer resources and equipment to support continued learning and development.

0–2 years

Kumanu

Kumanu- 'to tend carefully, care for and cherish'.

The Kumanu Room is our nursery. This is a specialised infant and toddler care room, catering for children up two years of age. The Kumanu room is a relaxed space where the youngest children start their early learning journey. We accommodate infants and toddlers with a maximum of 10 children at any one time.

2 - 4.5 years

Rauhī

Rauhī- 'to foster, nurture and protect'.

Our Rauhī Room is for our 2 to 4.5 year olds. In this room we also use the primary caregiving approach and we concentrate on teaching and putting respectful practice into place. This room provides children with more space to be active and to explore and discover in their unique toddler way.

4.5 years - school age

Whaneke

Whaneke- 'Onwards and upwards'.

Our Whanake Room is our school readiness learning space. Here you have a specific teacher assigned to your child where they continue to develop independence, language and social skills. We also concentrate on formal learning around the children's interests and preparing them for school in a fun way.
