Life Lessons Straight from the Garden

Kids can learn a lot from gardening. Planting and caring for a garden at preschool teaches them about sustainability, how to look after and respect the environment, and importantly, how to grow food.

Last week the children at Little Wonders Pegasus learnt all this and more as they helped pull out the centre’s old tomato plants and spent time getting their fingers dirty, digging the soil to prepare for fresh crops. The biggest highlight of the week came on Thursday when all the children helped plant a vibrant new vegetable garden, which they plan to tend with love and care.

And the best part of all? Eventually they’ll get to eat their efforts, as part of their centre meals!
