Meet our Centre Manager

Kia ora

Ko Leesa Armstrong ahau. I have been in ECE in Marlborough for 20 years. I am proud of the amazing relationships and connections I have made within the Marlborough community over this time. These relationships are what underpins my teaching philosophy and is what my leadership style is based on.

I have a strong belief that when children, whānau and teachers establish relationships that enable a sense of belonging, it creates an environment that feels safe to be your authentic self. This is where the best learning and the most fun happens!

I have been in Blenheim my whole life and love what our region has to offer. You used to see me down at the Hockey field multiple times a week, but now you'll catch me on the sidelines of a rugby field supporting my teenage son instead. I come from a family of five children and am fortunate to now have my own blended family of five children too. I wouldn't trade the constant noise and banter from our four boys and one girl for anything!

About Little Wonders Blenheim

At Little Wonders Blenheim, we focus on a developmentally tailored approach to help every child flourish. From the calm, soothing spaces for infants to the engaging, hands-on learning experiences for toddlers and preschoolers, we ensure each tamariki is supported in their growth.

Our centre features purpose-built learning environments and spacious outdoor areas, all designed to encourage exploration and creativity. With a strong connection to the local community, we integrate our surroundings and cultural history into daily learning.

Tamariki enjoy a wide variety of learning experiences, including music and storytelling for the younger children, and project-based learning and literacy activities for the preschoolers. We also love getting out and about, with regular excursions to connect our tamariki to the local environment and community.

Our Rooms

At Little Wonders Blenheim, we’ve created thoughtfully designed spaces that encourage curiosity and growth. Whether indoors or out, our environment offers tamariki the opportunity to explore, learn, and play at their own pace.

Infants and Toddlers

Atawhai

Atawhai is a calm, peaceful space where infants feel settled and connected to their teachers. Tamariki love joining in spontaneous music sessions and mat times, helping them build early social skills and a sense of routine.

Toddlers and Preschoolers

Manaaki

Manaaki is a dynamic room where tamariki can test out their ideas, explore cause and effect, and work on projects. Weekly baking sessions and fun storytelling help children develop confidence, self-regulation, and friendships in a supportive environment.
